Diary for day 7

We awake at around 8am and head downstairs to have a buffet breakfast in our hotel (which cost around $5 each). At 9am, all 12 of us hopped into two paddywagons and headed to a wet market, followed by a visit to a waterfall in which we swam (it was absolutely FREEZING). After several hours of driving (and a short lunch break) we eventually arrived at our starting point for our trek. The trek was quite hard and most of us fell over at some time (Eriko fell over about 3 times and Mannan 0). During the trek we mainly walked through the jungle, but we passed a few random rice fields as well. Our destination was very tribal and basic. There was no electricity/flushing water etc. We also had to bath in the stream (where the buffalos and cows pooped in). There were lots of pigs and chickens around. This is because they eat the chickens I think. But the pigs were needed because in this village, the women must propose to the men (at around the age of 12-16 years old). If the man accepts the proposal the girls family must give two pigs to the mens family. WEIRD! Most importantly, we saw a monkley tied to a hut, it was so cute, it was picking flees off a dog and playing with a tree branch. At night we sat around a fire and sang songs.
